I don’t want my MTV

Sorry to have to stray into something vaguely political, but MTV are trying to pull a fast one on all those future Lily Allens & Arctic Monkeys.

Billy puts it to the man!

Apparently they are encouraging people to post music to their new social networking site MTV Flux, but they are trying to claim ownership of all content that does get posted.MTV - you should be ashamed of yourself! I hope that everybody boycotts MTV Flux, until you change your ways.

Maybe we should all indulge in a bit of Google bombing and post links to MySpace (which doesn’t claim ownership on content posted on it) behind the words MTV Flux. Like this:
MTV Flux!

Good on you. Great video. I’m outraged.

Yep - it’s pretty shitty eh? Here’s hoping that somethying can be done about it. It strikes me as being almost music theft

    Nice one mate.

FYI, Myspace had a similar clause until Billy Bragg withdrew his songs in protest and drew attention to it.

Obviously everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciaran Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
