The Day There Was No News

If you’ve ever watched news channels on TV, you’ve probably had the feeling that sometimes they will report absolutely anything in order to fill time (or, in the case of Fox, will simply make stuff up.)

Well, what if there literally was nothing to report? This video, from Pixelsurgeon on Flickr, imagines just such a day and is made up of clips of news readers on BBC News signing off. With the accompanying music (yep, turn your sound on) it’s kind of beautiful.

I have to say that I thought the idea being expressed was one I’d come across before and I wonder if it was this that I was thinking of. Pixelsurgeon has said he’d never seen the Adam Buxton version (below) and personally I think the music he adds makes his superior to Buxton’s anyway.

Hat tip to Kerry.

Obviously everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciaran Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
