Was EPIC 2015 Right?

I remember the first time I saw EPIC 2015 (or 2014 as it was then) back in early 2005. The room of publishing executives could barely breathe by the time it finished, let alone speak.

Well now it seems like some commentators think parts of it might come true (sort of). Via Jemima, comes this quote from a Wall Street analyst to Reuters:

“We expect two players to continue to perform strongly. Both Google and Amazon.com are still racking up annual growth rates in the 30-40 percent range, with only a relatively modest slowdown in sight.” said Sanford C Bernstein analyst Jeffrey Lindsay

Can anyone spell Googlezon? I wonder when we can expect the Grid?

PS - Am I the only one who would love to see an updated version of EPIC? Maybe EPIC 2018? Some of the stuff about Podcasts just seems a bit passée now.

    OMG - I saw this video a few years back. About a year ago I started looking for it again but couldn’t find it.

    Some of the things in this have stuck with me, and over the last few months I’ve been thinking - there goes Google again - just like the video.

    Newsbotser = Newsvine!

    This definitely needs to be updated to include MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

    Excellent find (although I’m sure you knew where it was all along).

    I come back to it about once a year or so and whilst some of it is a looking bit out of date now, a lot is pretty prescient.

Obviously everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciaran Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
