The National – Fake Empire

As a true muso, I pride myself on being bang up to date, and so ahead of the curve that I’m positively bleeding edge.

And so, in order to keep up that appearance with the outside world, I thought I’d write a quick post about my new favourite band The National, and their album Boxer: it’s edgy, atmospheric, beautifully written, exquisitely sung, lovely instrumentation that reminds of me what indie ‘used to be like’ and shades of The Smiths, Radiohead, and many of the other best bands of the last few decades.

Fake Empire was the third single from the album.

And it came out in 2007.

That is all.

Everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciarán Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
