I love acts I discover through Glastonbury. I love cover versions. I love this cover version of Oasis’ Wonderwall by Maverick Sabre. At least until that fat DJ starts ruining it. I also love the fact that Maverick Sabre is from London/Dublin. So, just like me then. Wall by spaztacular on flickr

It seems that along with talking about the weather, and wondering when the British man will get knocked out of Wimbledon, discussing the headliners for Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage has become an annual summer tradition. A few years ago Jay Z really got  the ball rolling, before knocking it out of the park, making the Eavis [...]

Maverick Sabre – I Need

Well, this is the joy of Glastonbury (by which, obviously, I mean watching it from the sofa). As, the ever more lovely, Lauren Laverne, and, the ever more Peel-like, Mark Radcliffe, take over the coverage (after a U2 set that, I’m not ashamed to admit, brought a tear to my eye when a real-life spaceman [...]

So I’ve just got back from an amazing week in Cannes at the advertising festival, where the sun shone and we went to an amazing set on the beach by (apparently) Tiesto. And now, I’m at home, on the sofa, watching footage of people at Glastonbury dancing in the rain. Which I’m actually pretty happy [...]

If Skins is the youth we all wish we’d had (minus the violence, mental illness and suicide attempts, all sex & drugs & rock ‘n’ roll, The Inbetweeners is the youth most of us actually had: rampant hormones, serial embarrassment, and a lingering wish [...]

Three of my favourite things are, in no particular order, comics, movies and advertising (and particularly spoof ads). So, the spoof of VW’s recent Super Bowl ad, to promote the release of the movie adaptation of Marvel’s Thor comics, has been one of my highlights of the year so far. In case you haven’t seen the original [...]

So, my last post about the soundtrack to a Heineken ad really did bring the trolls out from under the many bridges of teh interwebz, so I wonder what the one will bring out. Maybe even some racists. Anyway, the new Heineken ad again features an impossibly perfect young man, this time on a date [...]

Obviously everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciarán Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
