Tied To The Noughties

A couple of my recent posts have been about the music that made up the soundtrack to the noughties, but obviously a decade is made of more than songs, even for someone as obsessed with music as me. So here’s a random list of the things that I will forever associate with the first ten [...]

Whilst some people crave a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, for many the way they know they’ve made it is when they get their own pair of trainers.
Well, with the release of the limited edition Nike Airs that he’s designed, Dizzee Rascal can take comfort in the fact that he has definitely arrived. [...]

Baby’s Got Back

My good friend Jethro spotted this and sent it on to me. Truly, a great bit of signage and worthy of joining my other all time favourites: the plumber, Napoleon Boiler Parts, and the cleaning company, Spruce Springclean.
Anyone got better than these?

What A Difference A Month Makes

One month ago today the meme that would become #uksnow was begining to gather pace as the snow started to fall on most of Southern England. And a month ago tomorrow, unable to get to work, I took the photo you can above: it’s one of the beds of flowers in my front yard and [...]

As anyone based in the UK or listening to the chatter on Twitter will know by now, there’s been a bit of snow in the UK. Not Alaska or Russia snow (although apparently the snow is from Russia) but still more than we’ve had for the best part of 20 years*. As my friend Tom [...]

As many of you will know, Jane Copland, former Mozzer and champion swimmer, recently moved to London. And, in a break from her Kiwi roots, decided not to get a job in a bar but at a search marketing agency (Ayima to be precise).
Well, like the staff at Daddy Warbucks mansion running round screaming “We [...]

Merry Christmas Everyone

Well, I’m off to Paris for Christmas tomorrow so this is likely to be my last post before Christmas Day. And as I’ve been so bad at sending Christmas cards this year I thought that I’d put a little festive message here.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year - I hope you’ve had a great [...]

Hotel Bosco. No Puppets Allowed.

I’ve just been for a quick pre-Christmas drink with my friends Jon & Lisa and it was only as I was on my way out that I really clocked the name of the bar where we’d been drinking. For people who’ve never spent childhood days watching kid’s TV in Ireland it probably won’t mean anything [...]

I’m A PC. And A Mac

And I really need to get out more.
Hat-tip to Mel for the I’m A PC sticker by the way (though I do think the campaign is flawed as you need to have heard of the I’m A Mac campaign for it to make any sense and many people in the UK almost certainly haven’t).

Eisenhower For President!

I was in West Ken earlier today and saw this rather cute little Fiat. As I walked past I noticed a rather cute window sticker. I do hope that someone broke it to him that Eisenhower wasn’t on the ticket this time round.

Obviously everything on this site is the opinion of me, Ciarán Norris, and no-one else, including my employers and anyone else I know. I guess that it's probably obvious, but thought I should probably make it explicit. Anyway, enjoy!
